Our Mission Statement

Bayside Family Practice is dedicated to being a leading provider of family medicine in the East Bay. We intend to treat patients and their families, regardless of economic and social status, in a personal and humane way. We are committed to providing excellent and continually up-to-date diagnostic, therapeutic, health-promoting, and preventive care.  Our first priority will always be serving our patients. We also intend to make Bayside a professionally and personally nurturing environment for our clinician and non-clinician staff.

What We Mean by Our Mission Statement

To be a leading provider

Basically, we are ambitious. We want to view ourselves and to have others view us as an excellent practice, in every aspect.  That is, in quality, quantity, efficiency, humanity, imagination, and innovation. We set high standards for ourselves. We have a vibrant team of dedicated Family physicians and Physician Assistants who support one another, communicate often, and are constantly teaching and learning to keep our minds active and keep up to date with the most current medical standards.  We offer same-day-sick appointments, and provide extended weekday as well as weekend hours for those patients with more challenging schedules.

Serving everyone

We accept a wide array of health insurances, and offer self-pay appointments to those without insurance.  Unfortunately, we do not see MediCal-insured adults, though we hope to be able to in the future. With so many patients having difficulty finding adequate care, we want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Being humane and personal

Happily, those who choose to practice family medicine are almost by definition people who want to treat others with compassion and dignity. The importance of this cannot be overemphasized. This is a gift that we can give which may be worth even as much as the medical care we provide.  We are determined to be a haven for patients, where they will be cared for, and cared about.

Being very high quality

Everyone says that they want to be high-quality practitioners, but we truly mean it!  As family practice clinicians, we meet routinely for chart reviews on important health topics, keeping up to date on current standards of care and innovative treatments.  We subscribe to email distribution lists which alert us to new evidence-based treatment options, as well as new data on more established medications.

In addition to clinician quality, office quality is a high priority.  The whole office must function smoothly if patients are to be cared for in the way that they deserve.  Bayside clinicians demand high quality from themselves, and also insist on it in the offices.

Organizing, conceiving of, and delivering care in a sophisticated and innovative fashion

This is an important part of being a leading practice. We don’t simply do things to imitate others, but think them through to ensure they make sense for us and our patients.  We strive to look at the whole patient, not just the throat; to look at our whole population and the needs of the community at large, not just the patient who presents with a single complaint. At Bayside we want to think for ourselves and do things creatively – through innovation, we strive for continual improvement.

Serving patients first

Patients come first. No matter what other goals we have, serving patients and helping them is our very highest priority. In concrete terms, this means that caring for patients comes before our own personal priorities. Even under trying circumstances, we will try our very best to serve our patients with dignity.
